Three new Wide releases plus the 2026 re-issues of Top Gun and Top Gun: Maverick… and none are expected to open above $11M. This is prime opportunity for the holdovers to pad their numbers, but the BOT forecast still has the fourth weekend of Michael outperforming the third weekend of Prada 2 for the top spot. A dark horse would be the summer’s next horror flick, Obsession. A modern take on the classic story, The Monkey’s Paw, the early reviews are through the roof at 90%+ across the board. Perhaps word-of-mouth can make it a threat.

You’ll also see in the Rotten Tomatoes (RT) Freshness Ratings the scores for the OG Top Gun, which is getting a 40th Anniversary Re-Issue. Boy, the critics really disliked it. You can go here to see what the Top Critics said back then. Whoopsies!
