Three new Wide releases this weekend, and our Top 10 is most certainly going to get a shakeup with a $48M projection for It Ends With Us (picked by 1 player). While I had never heard of it prior to this summer, evidently the novel is a “global phenomenon” if you are to believe the barrage of trailers. The demand is clearly there with $7M earned in Thursday previews, along with a 94% RT Audience score and ‘A-‘ CinemaScore. Our summer has finally found its successful chick-flick.

On the flip side we have the terribly-reviewed Borderlands (picked by 4 players). Working on a $110M+ budget, it’s a complete disaster with RT scores of only 10% for All Critics, 0% for Top Critics (wow!), 50% for Audience, and a ‘D+’ CinemaScore (double wow!). I seriously don’t believe I’ve ever seen a 0% Top Critics score or a ‘D+’ CinemaScore for a SMP selection. This is a new low.
