One shuffle in our Top 10 as Nope moves up a spot to #8 while Black Phone slips to #9. DC Pets climbed a couple rungs to #11, but based on the back-to-back weekends of less-than-expected performances it looks like Crawdads will hold that #10 spot for a little bit longer. 3 full weekends remain and it’s going to be an interesting race for that last spot.
Bullet Train finished slightly below projections at $30M, but with little-to-no direct competition over the next couple weekends it could take over soon.
With our last major release added to the Standings, each player’s current tally is now listed above their initials. Thanks to the surprise success of Black Phone (and their super smart brains) we presently have 3 players with 9 correct picks: Dennis Berg (DB), John Bernardo (JoB) and Mark Adolphus (MA). All 3 picked Bullet Train over DC Pets and are now clearly rooting for a strong second weekend.
Weekly Top Gun: Maverick update: Another $7M (only a 16% drop) lifted it to #7 ALL TIME with $662M. Next up on the list is 2018’s Avengers: Infinity War at #6 with $678M. That shouldn’t be a problem before the summer is up.
Next Weekend: Nothing selected here as it looks like the only new Wide release is no threat to anything fighting for Top 10.
